Understanding
What’s really
going on
Scars from surgery, injury or acne form when the skin heals quickly rather than neatly, laying down dense collagen that looks and feels different from the skin around it. How visible a scar is comes down to its texture, colour and depth.
Fractional laser resurfacing remodels scar tissue by replacing dense, disorganised collagen with fresh, healthy structure. Dr. Sarai assesses each scar individually and may combine HALO®, ProFractional™ or Contour TRL™ across a series of sessions, with SkinPen® microneedling and gentle peels carrying the lighter end for shallower or newer scars.
Not sure which treatment is right for you? Every plan starts with a consultation and a proper look at your skin.
How we treat it
A scar is collagen laid down in a hurry: dense, aligned, and different in texture and tone from everything around it. Fractional resurfacing gives the skin a second chance at that repair: ProFractional™ places pinpoint channels of laser energy directly into the scar, breaking up disorganised tissue and prompting replacement with normal collagen architecture, pass by pass, session by session.
Different scars want different tools, so Dr. Sarai assesses each one individually: its depth, its colour, its age, how it formed. Raised or rope-like surgical scars, flat-but-shiny injury scars, and depressed scars each respond differently. HALO® is often layered across the surrounding area so the revised scar blends into skin of matching texture, and Contour TRL™ is reserved for the most etched, established scarring.
Who it’s for
Anyone carrying a scar they think about, whether surgical, traumatic, or post-acne, on the face or body. Scar revision rewards patience and realism in equal measure: laser treatment can make most scars notably softer, flatter and less visible, but no honest clinic promises to erase one completely, and you will hear that plainly at your consultation. Mature scars and newer, fully healed scars can both be treated; timing is part of the assessment.
What to expect
A typical plan runs two to four sessions, several weeks apart, each preceded by numbing cream. Treated scars look red and feel rough for a few days as the micro-channels heal. Because remodelling is biological, the change is cumulative and slow-burning: each session’s improvement continues developing for months afterwards.
Between sessions, your job is protection. Sun on a remodelling scar can set pigment into it, so daily SPF over the treated area is non-negotiable. Progress photographs at each visit keep the change measurable, and Dr. Sarai adjusts depth and technique as the scar responds.
Wondering about cost? Standard prices for these treatments are listed openly on our pricing page, and your own plan is confirmed with Dr. Sarai at consultation.
The Plan
Three Steps To Softer Scars
Assess
Each scar is assessed on its own. Texture, colour and depth all shape which treatment will remodel it best.
Treat
A series matched to each scar, from SkinPen® microneedling and gentle peels through HALO®, ProFractional™ or Contour TRL™ resurfacing, sometimes combined, gradually replacing dense scar tissue with healthy structure.
Maintain
Sun protection and supportive skincare between sessions, so remodelling collagen matures flat, soft, and even-toned.
