Understanding

What’s really
going on

Stretch marks form when skin is asked to stretch faster than it can adapt, disrupting the collagen and elastin that give the dermis its structure. They tend to arrive with the moments that change a body: pregnancy and the post-partum months, weight that shifts up or down, the growth spurts of adolescence, and sometimes certain medical conditions or medications. They begin as red or purple streaks and gradually fade to pale lines over time. They are common, and they are harmless.

There is nothing about a stretch mark that needs correcting, and many people happily leave theirs alone. For those who would prefer the lines less visible, the tools are the same ones used for scars: SkinPen® microneedling and fractional resurfacing with HALO®, ProFractional or Contour TRL create controlled micro-injuries that prompt fresh collagen exactly where the marks sit, and BBL® HEROic light therapy can address the colour of newer, redder marks. What suits yours depends on the marks’ maturity, depth and location, and the downtime that fits your life, all decided with Dr. Sarai at your consultation.

Not sure which treatment is right for you? Every plan starts with a consultation and a proper look at your skin.

Your Options

Treatments for Stretch Marks

Which of these suits your skin is decided with Dr. Sarai at your consultation.

The Plan

Three Steps To Softer-Looking Lines

  1. Assess

Dr. Sarai examines the marks, their maturity and your skin before any option is discussed.

  2. Treat

A plan drawn from SkinPen® microneedling, BBL® HEROic light therapy for newer red marks, or fractional resurfacing, often over a series of sessions, matched to the depth and maturity of the marks.

  3. Maintain

Sun protection and medical-grade skincare support collagen remodelling between sessions, with progress reviewed at follow-up.
