Understanding
What’s really
going on
TMJ discomfort and jaw clenching usually trace back to the masseter, the powerful chewing muscle at the angle of the jaw. When it clenches or grinds for hours, often overnight and often without you knowing, the result can be jaw tightness, morning headaches, worn teeth and an aching temporomandibular joint.
Dr. Sarai treats TMJ tension and clenching with Botox® or Xeomin®, injected into the overactive jaw muscles. The aim is to soften the force of the clench while normal chewing and expression carry on as usual, with the effect building over days and typically lasting three to four months. Whether this suits your jaw, and the dose involved, is confirmed at your consultation.
Not sure which treatment is right for you? Every plan starts with a consultation and a proper look at your skin.
