Serene Rejuvenation · Surrey, BC

Serene Rejuvenation provides laser hair removal at a physician-led clinic in Surrey, BC, using Sciton’s Forever BARE BBL®. Rather than firing single high-energy blasts, Forever BARE delivers rapid low-energy pulses in motion, heating every follicle evenly while a continuously cooled sapphire plate keeps the skin comfortable. Dr. Sundeep Sarai performs each treatment herself, from your first session to your last.

In practice, sessions move quickly and stay comfortable, and the sweeping motion covers the area without gaps. Over a planned series of sessions, most people see a long-term reduction in hair growth. How many sessions you need, and how much reduction you see, varies from person to person.

How laser hair removal works: follicles and growth cycles

Laser hair removal works through pigment. The light energy passes through the surface of the skin and is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, where it converts to heat. That heat disables the follicle’s ability to produce new hair, while the surrounding skin is left alone.

The catch is timing. Each follicle cycles through phases of growth and rest, and only follicles in the active growth phase hold enough pigment, close enough to the root, to respond to treatment. At any given moment, only a portion of the hair in an area is in that phase. This is why laser hair removal is a spaced series rather than a single visit: each session catches a fresh group of follicles as they enter their active phase.

Forever BARE vs conventional laser hair removal

A conventional laser hair removal device fires a single high-energy pulse into one spot, then moves to the next, treating the area zone by zone like stamps on a grid. Each pulse has to carry the full therapeutic dose at once, which is where much of the familiar snapping sensation comes from, and the edges between zones are where spots can be missed.

Forever BARE BBL®, which runs on Sciton’s BBL® HEROic platform, takes a different route to the same target temperature. The handpiece sweeps continuously over the area, delivering many rapid low-energy pulses in motion so heat builds in every follicle gradually and evenly, with fewer missed spots. All the while, a continuously cooled sapphire plate rests against the skin, drawing heat away from the surface so the treatment stays comfortable.

Sessions, treatment areas and results: planning a series

Forever BARE BBL® can treat most areas where unwanted hair grows, including the face, underarms, arms, legs, back and bikini line. At your consultation, we map the areas you want treated and build a plan around them.

Because only actively growing follicles respond, sessions are spaced several weeks apart so each visit reaches a new group of follicles. Most treatment plans involve a series of visits; six-treatment packages are available for each area size, and the exact number is confirmed once we have seen how your hair responds.

What you can expect over that series is a progressive, long-term reduction in hair growth: finer, sparser hair that regrows more slowly. Results differ from person to person, and hormones can wake dormant follicles over time, so occasional maintenance visits help keep the result where you want it.

Whether this one suits you is confirmed at your consultation, after Dr. Sarai has looked at your skin.

FAQ

What is Forever BARE BBL®?

Strictly speaking, it is not a laser. Forever BARE BBL® uses broadband light rather than a single-wavelength laser beam, running on Sciton’s BBL® HEROic platform. It works on the same principle: light absorbed by pigment in the follicle converts to heat and disables it, delivered as rapid low-energy pulses in motion.

Does laser hair removal hurt?

Most people find Forever BARE noticeably more comfortable than conventional laser hair removal. Because energy arrives as many low-power pulses rather than single strong ones, and a continuously cooled sapphire plate rests on the skin throughout, you typically feel warmth and a light flicking sensation rather than sharp snaps. Sensitive areas can feel more.

Is there downtime?

Very little. You may see brief redness around treated follicles for a few hours, and the area can feel warm, like mild sun exposure. Most people return to normal activities straight away. We simply ask you to protect the area from sun and avoid heat and friction for a day or two.

How many laser hair removal sessions will I need?

Plan for a series timed to your hair’s growth cycle, with sessions spaced several weeks apart so each visit reaches newly active follicles. Our pricing is built around six-treatment packages, which suits most areas well, and your exact number is confirmed at a consultation, based on the area and your hair.

How long do results last?

Expect long-term reduction rather than total, lifelong removal. Treated follicles generally stop producing hair, and what regrows tends to be finer and sparser. Because hormones can activate dormant follicles over the years, many people book an occasional maintenance session to keep the area smooth. How much reduction you keep varies.

How do I prepare?

Shave the area within a day or so of your appointment, but do not wax, pluck or epilate in the weeks beforehand: the light needs pigment in the follicle to work, so the root must stay in place. Avoid active tanning before treatment, and arrive with clean skin, free of products.

What is the aftercare?

Keep it simple and gentle. Protect the treated area with sunscreen and avoid deliberate sun exposure while your skin settles. For the first day or two, skip hot tubs, saunas, hard workouts and anything that creates heat or friction over the area. Moisturise as needed; any redness around follicles typically fades within hours.

Who is a good candidate for laser hair removal?

Most people with pigmented hair are candidates. Because the treatment works through pigment in the hair itself, very light, grey or red hair gives the light little to target and responds poorly. Settings can be adapted across a range of skin tones, and candidacy is confirmed at a consultation.
