Understanding
What’s really
going on
Broken capillaries and visible vessels around the nose, cheeks and chin appear when tiny blood vessels dilate and stay that way. Sun exposure, rosacea, genetics and the thinning of skin with age all contribute.
BBL® HEROic™ delivers targeted light energy that the vessel absorbs, causing it to seal and be reabsorbed by the body. Surrounding skin is untouched, treatments are quick, and most vessels fade within a few sessions. Where thinning skin is part of what makes vessels show, collagen-building options from SkinPen® microneedling through laser resurfacing can join the plan.
Not sure which treatment is right for you? Every plan starts with a consultation and a proper look at your skin.
How we treat it
Broken capillaries cannot repair themselves. Once a facial vessel has dilated and stayed that way, it needs to be closed deliberately. BBL® HEROic™ does this with wavelength selectivity: the light is absorbed by the haemoglobin inside the vessel far more strongly than by anything around it, so the vessel wall heats, seals, and is reabsorbed by the body over the following weeks while the surrounding skin stays untouched.
Precision is the point. Dr. Sarai treats vessel by vessel where they are discrete, and in passes where they form diffuse patches across the cheeks or around the nose. Before any of that, she works out what is driving them, because vessels fed by untreated rosacea or ongoing sun damage will keep recruiting reinforcements. Treating the cause alongside the vessel is what makes results last.
Who it’s for
Adults with visible facial vessels: the fine red threads beside the nostrils, spidery patches on the cheeks, or the general vascular flush that arrives with sun, wind and years. It suits both those with a handful of isolated vessels wanting a quick, targeted fix and those whose vessels are part of a broader redness picture, where the plan expands accordingly after a physician’s assessment.
What to expect
Sessions are quick, often well under half an hour, and feel like brief warm snaps along each treated vessel. Some vessels visibly blanch or grey immediately; others fade gradually over the following two to four weeks as the body clears them. Downtime is little to none: mild redness for a few hours, then business as usual.
Fine vessels often clear in one to three sessions. Because new vessels can form where the underlying tendency remains, Dr. Sarai builds prevention into the plan (daily sun protection above all, plus trigger management where rosacea is involved) and treats newcomers at brief follow-up visits when they appear.
Wondering about cost? Standard prices for these treatments are listed openly on our pricing page, and your own plan is confirmed with Dr. Sarai at consultation.
The Plan
How We Clear Them
Assess
Your vessels are assessed alongside what is driving them: sun, rosacea, genetics, or thinning skin.
Treat
Quick, targeted BBL® HEROic™ sessions that seal each vessel, with collagen-building options added where thinning skin is part of the picture.
Maintain
Sun protection and rosacea trigger management where relevant, so treated vessels stay closed and new ones are less likely.
