Contour TRL^™ Deep Laser Resurfacing

Contour TRL^™ (Tunable Resurfacing Laser) is Sciton^®’s deepest erbium laser resurfacing treatment. Because the depth is tunable, Dr. Sarai can remove precisely as much photo-damaged skin as your case requires, from moderate renewal through to full-field resurfacing of etched lines and advanced sun damage.

Deep resurfacing is a significant procedure and comfort is managed accordingly: numbing, local anaesthetic and other comfort measures are planned with you in advance, depending on the depth and area treated. Afterwards the skin feels raw, like a strong sunburn, for the first days.

Dr. Sarai performs every laser treatment at the clinic. Contour TRL^™, as the deepest resurfacing option, is planned and carried out by her personally, from the consultation through to the follow-up visits.

Expect roughly two to three weeks of true downtime for deeper treatments: the surface heals over the first week or so, then stays pink for a while afterwards. That pinkness fades gradually and can be covered with makeup once the skin has closed. Lighter spot treatments recover faster.

Usually one. Contour TRL^™ is designed to accomplish in a single deep treatment what lighter lasers approach over a series. Some people later add lighter maintenance treatments, but the corrective work is typically done once.

Deep resurfacing results are long-lasting: the treated damage is physically removed, and the rebuilt collagen matures over months. Skin continues to age and sun exposure remains the main threat, so results are best protected with daily sun protection.

Preparation is planned individually: strict sun avoidance beforehand, an antiviral if you are prone to cold sores, and sometimes a skin-preparation routine in the weeks prior. Because this is a physician-performed procedure, the full plan is set at your consultation.

It is structured, and we guide you through it: ointment-based care while the surface heals, gentle cleansing, no picking, and rigorous sun protection for months. Follow-up visits let Dr. Sarai monitor healing directly.

People with advanced sun damage, deep wrinkles or etched lines (often around the mouth and eyes) who accept real downtime in exchange for significant renewal. It is generally best suited to fair and medium skin tones; Dr. Sarai will advise honestly if a different treatment would serve you better.
