The Treatment
How it works
HALO® is the world’s first hybrid fractional laser. It delivers an ablative and a non-ablative wavelength in the same pass, reaching results that once required aggressive resurfacing, with far less downtime.
A single HALO® treatment targets sun damage, fine lines, uneven texture, and enlarged pores. Most clients are back to normal activities within a few days and see the signature “HALO® glow” emerge as the skin completes its renewal over the following weeks.
Whether this one suits you is confirmed at your consultation, after Dr. Sarai has looked at your skin.

FAQ
What is HALO® laser resurfacing?
HALO® is a hybrid fractional laser made by Sciton®. The name is a Sciton® trademark for a skin-resurfacing treatment, unrelated to other products that use the word. It delivers an ablative and a non-ablative wavelength in the same pass, treating sun damage, texture, fine lines and pores with more manageable downtime than traditional deep resurfacing.
Does HALO® hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied before treatment, and most people describe the sensation as prickling heat. The skin feels warm, like a sunburn, for a few hours afterwards; cooling during treatment keeps it tolerable.
Who performs laser treatments at Serene?
Dr. Sarai performs every laser treatment at Serene herself, HALO® included. She sets the treatment intensity for your skin during the session and follows your healing personally afterwards.
How much downtime does HALO® have?
Plan for around five to seven days of social downtime. Expect redness and swelling for the first couple of days, then a sandpaper-like texture as tiny micro-dots of treated skin darken and flake away. Most people are back to normal activities, with makeup, within a week.
How many HALO® treatments will I need?
Many people treat with a single, stronger HALO® session; others choose two or three lighter sessions with a shorter recovery each time. Dr. Sarai plans the intensity around your skin and your calendar.
How long do HALO® results last?
The glow emerges over two to six weeks and collagen continues remodelling for months. How long results hold depends heavily on sun protection. With good care, many people maintain their result for years, sometimes with lighter maintenance treatments.
How do I prepare for HALO®?
Avoid tanning and self-tanner for several weeks beforehand, pause retinoids as directed, and let us know if you get cold sores: an antiviral before treatment can help prevent a flare. Full instructions come with your booking.
What is the aftercare?
Gentle cleansing, a simple protective moisturiser while the skin renews, no picking at flaking skin, and strict daily sun protection. We provide a written aftercare plan and are available if anything about your recovery concerns you.
Who is a good candidate for HALO®?
Adults with sun damage, uneven texture, enlarged pores or fine lines who can set aside a few days of recovery. Settings can be adapted to many skin types, but candidacy, especially for deeper skin tones or active skin conditions, is confirmed at a consultation.
